Mijn eerste keer Griekenland, en de verwachtingen waren hoog! Misschien net iets te hoog, want Kos is absoluut niet het mooiste eiland, maar wat hebben we genoten! Ik verbleef in een ultra all in hotel, maar ik heb toch nog zoveel mogelijk van Kos bezocht.
Sunset Tour Zia:
In het berg dorpje Zia zou je de mooiste zonsondergang van Kos kunnen zien, en dat was zeker niet gelogen. Het was best een lange busrit naar Zia, maar het was echt een gezellige avond. Wij hebben enkele uren heerlijk getafeld in een Grieks restaurantje op het hoogste punt van Zia en zo ook de prachtige zonsondergang gezien. Daarna nog een korte wandeling langst alle gezellige toeristische winkeltjes en de avond was zo weer voorbij. Zeker een aanrader dit!
Dag trip naar Bodrum:
Op zich best leuk om een dagje in Turkije te zijn, maar ook hier ben je weer zo lang onderweg. Met de boot van Kos haven naar Bodrum is het ongeveer 35 minuutjes, maar daarvoor heb je nog een super lange busrit en moet je toch wel een tijdje aanschuiven aan de paspoort controle om de boot op te mogen. In Bodrum heb je uiteindelijk een 4 tal uurtjes vrije tijd, en dat was voor ons meer dan genoeg. Terug aangekomen in Kos moet je ook nog enorm lang aanschuiven bij de paspoort controle dus bereid je voor op heel veel wachten als je deze uitstap doet.
3 Island Tour:
Naar mijn mening niet de moeite. We boekten de Tour via Sunweb, dus misschien dat andere 3 island tours wel iets leuker zijn. Onze boot zat echt veel te vol waardoor je niet comfortabel en rustig kon zitten. Het was ook heel lang varen naar het eerste eiland. Fijn om de eilandjes te bezoeken, maar ook hier was niet super veel te zien. Op een halfuurtje had je het wel gezien. Tijdens het varen hebben we wel dolfijnen gespot dus dat was wel super leuk!
Paradise Beach:
Dit zou het mooiste strand van het eiland zijn. We zijn hier naartoe gereden met een gehuurde buggy. Heel mooi proper strand, met een mooi uitzicht van palmbomen en rotsen. Zeker de moeite om dit te bezoeken. Ook heb je hier een heel mooie strandbad én de ligbedjes zijn hier gratis op het strand.
Kos old town :
Hier moet je echt langst gaan als je in Kos bent. Super gezellig om hier door de smalle straatjes te wandelen. Uiteindelijk kom je ook uit op de prachtige haven van Kos met tal van gezellige terrasjes en restaurantjes. Ook kan je hier nog oude ruïnes vinden. Heel bijzonder om te zien!
Sunset Tour Zia:
In the mountain village of Zia you could see the most beautiful sunset in Kos, and that was certainly not a lie. It was quite a long bus ride to Zia, but it was a really nice evening. We had a lovely meal for a few hours in a Greek restaurant at the highest point of Zia and also saw the beautiful sunset. Then a short walk along all the nice tourist shops and the evening was over in no time. Definitely recommend this!
Day trip to Bodrum:
Quite nice to be in Turkey for a day, but here also you are on the road for so long. It takes about 35 minutes by boat from Kos harbor to Bodrum, but for that you still have a super long bus ride and you have to queue for a while at passport control to be allowed on the boat. In Bodrum you eventually have about 4 hours of free time, and that was more than enough for us. Arriving back in Kos you also have to queue for a long time at the passport control so be prepared for a lot of waiting if you do this trip.
3 Island Tour:
Not worth the effort in my opinion. We booked the Tour through Sunweb, so maybe other 3 island tours are a bit more fun. Our boat was really too full so you couldn't sit comfortably and quietly. It was also a very long sail to the first island. Nice to visit the islands, but there was not much to see here either. You would have seen it in half an hour. While sailing we did spot dolphins so that was super fun!
This is said to be the most beautiful beach on the island. We drove here with a rented buggy. Very nice clean beach, with a nice view of palm trees and rocks. Definitely worth visiting. You also have a very nice beach bar here and the sunbeds are free on the beach.
Kos old town :
This is the place to go when you are in Kos. Very nice to walk through the narrow streets here. Eventually you will also arrive at the beautiful harbor of Kos with numerous cozy terraces and restaurants. You can also find old ruins here. Very special to see!
